L.Ac., M.ac.O.M., Dipl.Ac. (NCCAOM)

At the Courage Center, Amy worked with neurological/spinal cord injuries, cerebral vascular accidents (strokes) and cerebral palsy.  At Woodwinds, she focused on orthopedic patients with post-surgical pain management, and also in maternal care. At the other clinics, Amy treated men, women, and children with a wide variety of health concerns. These included extreme anxiety and depression, fatigue, weak and numb limbs, neuropathy, dizziness, gynecological issues such as PMS, infertility, and menopause, sleep and digestive disorders, addictions, and weight loss to name a few.

Amy also has extensive experience successfully treating both acute and chronic pain, including chronic migraines and fibromyalgia.

In the Spring of 2009, Amy traveled to China to study of the 5,000-year-old Eastern medicine at its origin.  She undertook an intensive advanced program at Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine where she studied at the university and in their hospitals, absorbing the work of world-renowned TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) doctors.  This experience gave her the motivation and inspiration to return home and open a clinic where she could treat, educate, and encourage her patients to live well-rounded, healthy lives.

In the fall of 2009, Amy opened Northwoods Acupuncture and Wellness Center with three clinical locations: Plymouth, New Hope, and Grand Rapids, MN. In 2012, Amy and her husband Bob started their family, and therefore made the decision to return to her hometown and focus on her Grand Rapids clinic.

Amy’s goal is to work with you to eliminate or alleviate your ailments by treating the underlying cause, thus improving your quality of life.

She said, "I am hooked on acupuncture both as a practitioner and a patient.  I am amazed at what Chinese medicine has done for my own health and with every one of my patients who walks out my door feeling relieved of his or her ailment, many who have not felt relief in years."
